The Person Behind the Paper

Hello! My name is Rebecca. In 2018 I found a lump, scheduled my first mammogram and was diagnosed with breast cancer before I turned 40. I do not share this detail to tug on your heartstrings or receive any obligatory pink ribbons. I share this so you understand my purpose.

My purpose is to provide creative paper goods that can enable health and connection to rise to the top of your priority list consistently throughout life’s defining moments.

I am a graphic designer who started out designing signs to help you make decisions and immerse you in an environment. I paused my career after my husband and I had kids and chose to pour my creativity into family. I always planned to return to the working world, but personal and worldwide health challenges made for a long and winding road back. Now here I am, starting a small creative paper goods business.

In 2020 the entire world faced a defining moment in life - a global pandemic. To me, it was as if everyone had received a life-changing diagnosis. We did not know our way through it, but we all craved a return to what was familiar. It was during this time that I designed a card I would have wanted to receive in the mail before my first mammogram. A visual to break through the generic health reminder that is often discarded before it is ever seen. A colorful card to keep on hand all year long that I believe can lead to conversations about the importance of prioritizing your health.

I became even more aware of the importance of my mental health after my cancer diagnosis. Individual, group and art therapy along with time spent putting pen to paper all help me heal. Healing is lifelong.

Moments planned, unplanned, surprising and predictable can change your life, forever. The value of our health has been made crystal clear. Prioritizing and checking in on your health along with reminding others to do the same is my reason why.

Life is full of defining moments that shape who we are. I am grateful for every day I have to seek out the answer to "what defines you?"
